On Sunday I begin preaching a new series of messages entitled The Radiant Church.  Our text is Ephesians 5:25-27.  Please take some time this weekend to read this text and think about how Jesus desires for Great Hills Baptist Church to be a radiant, glorious church that reaches Austin and

touches the world with the good news of the salvation of our Lord.  I am very excited about sharing these sermons with you as we explore what our purpose is here at Great Hills.  Please pray for me as I preach these important messages on ecclesiology, the crucial but poorly understood doctrine of the Church.

Join me in welcoming Terry and Debbie Hurt!  Terry is our new Worship Pastor and we are delighted and blessed to have him and Debbie as a part of our church family and ministry team.  Terry is passionate about worshiping our great God and leading us to be radiant worshipers everyday and not just on Sundays.  Terry and Debbie got some wonderful news this week—they sold their home in Arkansas!

Also, please join me in thanking Ross Hartsfield for his faithful service as our interim Worship Pastor over the last couple of years.  Ross is a gifted, kind, and Christ-like man, and what a joy he and Tonya are to the family of God at Great Hills.  Ross, we love you, brother, and are grateful to God for your faithful ministry!

In my quiet times I have been reading 1 Kings and in chapter 8 there is a moving and powerful scene of when the glory and presence of God were so intense the priests could not minister.  Verse 11 states, “For the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD.”  Oh, that God’s glory would fill GHBC this coming Lord’s Day!  Pray with me this weekend toward that end, that when we gather on Sunday to praise the one true God, that His presence would be so conspicuous that all would know that God is here!
