There are so many good things happening here at Great Hills Baptist Church! God is allowing us to become a radiant church that is shining upward in worship, inward in discipleship, and outward in evangelism and missions.  What a blessing to see people coming to faith in Christ and following Him in baptism!  For example, just last Sunday both a young girl from a church family and post-doc student from MIT at UT were baptized here in our church—awesome!

You are in for a blessing this coming Sunday as Pastor Finny Matthews preaches God’s Word in all three worship services: 9:30 am, 11:00 am, and 6:15 pm.  Pastor Finny’s family is coming with him and his daughter will sing before he preaches on Sunday morning.  Finny is Indian and has a great heart for reaching nations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  He is a very gifted and powerful preacher and I am blessed to know him.  I went to Nepal last year with Finny and saw firsthand the impact his ministry is having in India and Nepal.  My ministry, Danny Forshee Evangelistic Association, gives monthly support for a child in Nepal through Finny’s ministry, Alpha International Ministries (www.aim18.org).  It will be a great day, so come and bring a friend to hear Pastor Finny share his heart.

Terry Hurt and the music ministry staff invite you to be a part of the worship ministry by joining our choir!  Lynnette Anthony writes, “The Radiant Church is a worshipping church. . . .   We are excited about new beginnings in many ways here at Great Hills including a new beginning for our choir.  We invite you to be a part of leading our church family into an attitude of worship by joining the choir. There are no audition requirements for you to join in our weekly rehearsals as we make preparations to lead worship.  Beginning this week on August 11 we will meet each Wednesday night from 6:45 pm to 8:15 pm in the Choir Room on the second floor of building B.  Childcare is provided for weekly rehearsals for preschool through fifth graders.  Come join the choir!”

Please mark your calendars for August 21 as we go to east Austin and share the love of Jesus in practical ways.  Sign up in the Great Hall or online at www.ghbc.org and be praying for this day for God to use us powerfully in people’s lives.

Finally, I’d like to invite all parents of preschoolers to pray about enrolling your kids in our O’Chester Learning Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the 2010-2011 school year.  OLC has been a fantastic educational start for hundreds of our children over the years.  You can find all the information on our website at ghbc.org.
