God intended for marriage to be a permanent relationship, but sadly it all too often ends in divorce. The pain and rejection that accompanies separation and divorce can be indescribable. You are not alone. There is help and hope. Divorce Care is conducted by people who care and understand what you are going through and have experienced firsthand the healing and restorative power of God. In Divorce Care you will not only learn to rebuild your life and shattered dream, but also soar to a whole new level in your walk with God. Safe People(Safe People began a new session on Wednesday, November 30. This class is open to new members at any time.) Have you ever been wounded by an “unsafe” person? Have you experienced a relationship in which you were abandoned, overly criticized or controlled? In this course, Dr. Cloud and Dr. Townsend share insights that will help you make wise decisions when it comes to relationships whether for friendship, romance, at work, business, or in any area of life. You will learn how to detect those character traits that make a person “unsafe,” which will help you avoid unhealthy relationships and become a “safe” person yourself. Stop being disappointed and start enjoying safe, healthy, balanced relationships! Boundaries(Boundaries began a new session on January 18. This class is open to new members at any time.) Are you in control of your life? Do people take advantage of you? Do you have trouble saying “no”? The problem may be a lack of boundaries in your life. Boundaries are those healthy limits that protect and nurture the good that God blesses us with while keeping out those influences that would contaminate the good. Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend describe ten laws of boundaries that will bring new health to your relationship at home, work, church--in all areas of life. Using these biblically-based boundaries in your life will help you be a good steward of those treasures that God blessed you with to enable you to experience life in its fullness. Grief Share(Grief Share is not meeting at this time.) The Grief Share group is for people grieving the death of a loved one. Grief Share is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. It may be hard for you to feel optimistic about the future right now. If you’ve lost a spouse, child, family member or friend, you’ve probably found there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel. This can be a confusing time when you feel isolated and have many questions about things you’ve never faced before. You don’t have to go through the grieving process alone. Grief Share support groups are led by people who understand what you are going through and want to help. Grief Share groups meet weekly to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life. Please note: Grief Share is for people grieving the death of a loved one. Many other life situations bring deep grief, such as separation and divorce, a loved one who is dying, estrangement, loss of a loved one to a cult, loss of custody of a child through divorce and more. If you are struggling with a loss not due to a death, Grief Share is not designed to meet your grief needs for healing. We encourage you to ask your pastor or a church leader for guidance in finding a support group or counselor. Wounded Heart(Wounded Heart began a new session on October 31. This class is closed to new members). Wounded Heart is a group for women who are survivors of sexual abuse and are in the process of healing from the trauma related to that abuse. This class takes an intensely personal and specific look at this most “soul deadening” form of abuse. It goes well beyond the general issues and solutions discussed in many books. This study reaches deep into each wounded heart, exploring the secret lament of the soul damaged by sexual abuse and laying hold of the hope buried there by the One whose unstained image we all bear. There is a way out of the rage, fear, and confusion. Embolden your heart to dare to hope, dare to trust, and dare to leave behind contempt for itself and contempt for others. |
