On Mission

The purpose of the Missions Ministry is to inform, mobilize and equip the congregation of Great HIlls Baptist Church to become Global Christians participating in a balanced Acts 1:8 plan for global evangelism.

The basis for the Missions Ministry at GHBC is the Great Commission given in the following scriptures: Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15, Luke 24:44-48, John 20: 19-23, and Acts 1:8.

The Missions Ministry at Great Hills Baptist Church is pastoral-led and lay-driven. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Missions Minister and a Global Outreach Team are responsible for implementing an Acts 1:8 Global Outreach Plan. This is a plan for Austin, for Texas, for the United States and Canada and the Ends of the Earth!

The Global Outreach Team consists of the Pastor, Missions Minister, Church Administrator, Missions Coordinators and geographic Team Leaders. This team meets regularly to consider issues, requests and strategies concerning the GHBC Missions Ministry. The Global Outreach Team's responsibilities include prayer, planning, goal setting, budgeting, and administering a Missions Ministry dedicated to “Carrying God’s Light to the World.”
