As Children's Minister, John is responsible for overseeing all areas of the Children's Ministry at Great Hills. This includes Sunday School, Children's Church, AWANA, FAITH for Kids, Kidz Quest, Vacation Bible School, summer camps, the Austin Fall Fest and much more. John holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology from Howard Payne University. He completed graduate work at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary and is currently working on a Masters of Religious Education from Liberty Theological Seminary. John enjoys reading, golf, fly-fishing, skiing and all athletics at the University of Texas. During seminary, he served on staff at Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, TN. Prior to that, he served as an associate in the Children's Ministry at Great Hills for five years.

In the Children's Ministry at Great Hills we are committed to partnering with parents to help children discover a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We accomplish this task through relevant teaching that will instill biblical truth in the heart of your child.
Throughout the year you will discover many exciting programs that include Sunday School, Children's Church, AWANA, Vacation Bible School, FAITH for Kids, Camp Great Kid and many other events designed specifically to meet the needs of your 1st through 5th grader.

CAMP GREAT KID: JULY 21-24 - FOR 3-5 GRADERS

Camp Great Kid
Camp is for third through fifth graders. Camp is held at Highland Lakes Camp just 45 outside of Austin. We will leave for camp on Monday morning of July 21 and return on Thursday afternoon of July 24.
Activities for kids include: swimming, the blob, aqua jump trampoline, ropes courses, BMX bike track, water sports, team games, banana sleds, ice berg water wall, music, crafts, an awesome speaker, and fun with friends!
This year's camp theme is "iLead: Don't You?" During the week at camp, kids will learn how to be leaders for God and how to serve others.
While at camp, all of the child's food and lodging are provided for. The cost also covers the transportation to and from GHBC.

PLANET WORSHIP
Planet Worship meets each Sunday morning at 9:30 in the Space Place (room C221). It is a relelvant worship time for all 1st - 5th graders.
AWANA
The Goal of AWANA is to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him.
AWANA Meets Sunday at 6:05 PM, September through May.
