What is a Titus Group?
A Titus Group is a Christ-centered, intergenerational fellowship where mature believers intentionally invest in younger believers through real-life relationships. We walk together, sharing grace, truth, and wisdom, so the gospel is displayed not only in words but also in relationships patterned after Titus 2:1–8.
At Great Hills, Titus Groups are the primary way we live out our five core values in everyday community:

Titus Groups are not a program but a way of life — a gospel-centered community that complements Sunday worship and equips every believer for maturity in Christ (Ephesians 4:11–16; Acts 2:42–47).

What Happens in a Titus Group?
Every group is built around three simple rhythms and uses the previous Sunday’s sermon text as the main study material (with weekly notes and questions provided by the church).
- Soul Care – Shepherding hearts through prayer, counsel, encouragement, and gentle correction.
- Hospitality – Opening homes and lives to create safe, joyful spaces where the gospel is tasted in ordinary moments.
- Facilitation – Guiding a transformative conversation that moves from “What does the text say?” to real-life application.

- Welcome / Icebreaker / Prayer
- Sermon text discussion and application, or combine with Hospitality (meal or coffee)
- Soul Care and prayer requests
- Personal encouragement

Practical Details
- Flexible options: Meet any day/time (homes or new facility) — weekly, twice monthly, or monthly.
- Legacy Adult Groups: Continue as a separate track for our 60+ members.
- Children: Core discussion time is for adults; childcare follows our approved Ministry Safe policies.
- Membership & Outreach: Core groups are for church members seeking deep discipleship, but every group regularly hosts open outreach and social events for guests and seekers.

What are Titus Groups?
Titus Groups are Christ-centered, intergenerational fellowships where mature believers intentionally invest in younger believers through real-life relationships (patterned after Titus 2:1–8).
They are not just another program — they are the primary way we live out discipleship at Waypoint. The goal is genuine cross-generational interaction, not simply having people of different ages in the same room.
Why are we moving from Connect Groups / Home Groups to Titus Groups?
Connect Groups served us well for a season, but the landscape has changed. We want deeper discipleship, stronger intergenerational relationships, and a model that better reflects Titus 2.
Titus Groups will replace the current age-segregated Connect Group hour and become the main engine for living out our five core values together.
What is the difference between intergenerational and multigenerational?
• Intergenerational = Cross-generational relationships with real interaction and mutual investment (older pouring into younger and vice versa).
• Multigenerational = People of different ages are present but largely stay in their own life-stage groups with little interaction.
We are intentionally leaning into intergenerational relationships.
What is the scriptural foundation?
Titus 2:1–8 (older/mature believers investing in younger believers).
“Older” refers to spiritual maturity more than chronological age. Both the older (willing to pour out) and the younger (willing to be poured into) are essential.
What are the three primary leadership roles in a Titus Group?
Every Titus Group will have three collaborative “champions” (shared leadership is encouraged):
• Facilitator — Prepares content (primarily from Sunday’s sermon) and guides discussion.
• Soul Care Champion — Focuses on spiritual shepherding, prayer, accountability, encouragement, and gentle correction.
• Hospitality Champion (Host) — Creates a welcoming environment, handles logistics, and helps people connect.
No one person carries everything — we want to avoid a “hero leader” model.
Why is Soul Care so important?
Soul care is the heart of Titus Groups. Without authentic, trusting relationships, people will not stick, grow, or serve well.
Key components include:
• Knowing people deeply (not just names)
• Maintaining strict confidentiality (“what’s shared in the group stays in the group”)
• Drawing out deeper concerns (Proverbs 27:23, 20:5)
• Authentic vulnerability in a safe environment
• Wise counsel, encouragement, and accountability (without giving unsolicited advice)
Will groups be closed or open?
Regular Titus Groups are intended for church members and will be closed for a season to build trust, commitment, and deep soul care.
We will still have regular open social/outreach events (meals, park days, etc.) where non-members and seekers are warmly invited.
What is the commitment level?
• Two-year commitment expected once groups officially launch.
• Annual membership covenant renewal (including serving and giving as markers of active membership).
• Groups are expected to multiply after two years.
There will be a trial/transition period (October–December 2026) before the formal two-year cycle begins in January 2027.
What about Legacy Adult Groups?
Legacy adult groups are healthy and will continue as a separate track. Many legacy adults will also participate in intergenerational Titus Groups.
How will childcare work?
• On-campus groups will have access to the playscape and church-facilitated children’s Bible teaching on certain nights.
• Home groups are encouraged to arrange their own vetted childcare.
• Children will not participate in adult group discussions (for safety and openness).
A written childcare policy is available.
What curriculum will groups use?
The primary curriculum will be Sunday’s sermon text. Facilitators will receive a simple guide with the text, main points, and application questions. The goal is personalized application and discussion, not lecturing.
What is the timeline?
• July 12 & 19, 2026 — Combined Connect Group meetings (taste of Titus Groups model)
• July 26, 2026 — Titus Group Expo (sign-ups and orientation)
• August 2026 — Groups begin meeting in new geographic areas (“getting to know you” phase)
• September 2026 — Temporary worship at Mission Santa Rita; hard launch of Santa Rita campus
• October 2026 — Expected opening of new Riata campus
• January 2027 — Official Titus Group launch with two-year rhythm
How do I get involved?
Leaders are needed in all three roles (Facilitator, Soul Care Champion, Hospitality Champion).

Will groups meet on or off campus?
Both are welcome. Geographic convenience (Liberty Hill, Leander, Austin, etc.) will be considered when forming groups.
